Kids in grades K-5 can join us at Reed Memorial Library on Tuesday, October 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to complete a LEGO creation based on a theme.This club meets on the second Tuesday of every month. The library will provide the LEGOs, participants will provide the imagination! Participants are welcome to donate LEGOs to the library for future programs.

On Wednesday, October 14 from 7:00-8:00 p.m., adults are invited to Reed Memorial Library for an informal discussion of “The Good Earth” by Pearl S. Buck. This novel paints an indelible portrait of China in the 1920’s.
Children in grades 3-5 with top-notch detective skills are invited to help solve a library mystery on Thursday, October 15 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Help the librarian figure out who stole all of the library’s LEGO’s! We need your help to solve the case! Registration is required for this free event.
Children in grades 1-5 can join us at Reed Memorial Library on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. to read aloud to a therapy dog. Reading to a dog can reduce anxiety and make children more confident. Sign-up for a 15 minute reading session with Doogie, our visiting therapy dog. Registration is required for this free event.
On Tuesday, October 20 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. our Guiding Ohio Online AmeriCorps member will offer a class on Excel I. This talk provides an overview of Microsoft Excel and will teach participants how to create and edit spreadsheets using basic formulas and formatting tools. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are required. Registration is required and space is limited.
Kids in grades K-5 are invited to Reed Memorial Library on Wednesday, October 21 at 6:30 p.m. to come in and play on the iPads! Children may play what they want, or have a librarian suggest an app for their age and interests. No registration is required.
In celebration of our “Big Read” book selection, Reed Memorial Library will be hosting a cookie decorating workshop with a Mexican theme on Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. The “Big Read” is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts designed to broaden our understanding of our world and community through the sharing of a good book.
On Thursday, October 22 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. our Guiding Ohio Online AmeriCorps member will offer a class on Organizing Files and Folders. This class will cover how to organize the various files that we store digitally. Participants will practice how to move and delete files and folders, as well as how to create and name new folders. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are required.
